Monday is now 'Senior Citizens Day' at the GAA Museum
12th January 2010
The GAA Museum are delighted to announce that going forward every Monday will be ‘Senior Citizens Day’ at the Museum in Croke Park Stadium.
Each Monday, Seniors are invited to the GAA Museum to take a behind-the-scenes guided tour of Croke Park Stadium for just €5, less than half the adult price. Fitzers Catering have also added to the deal by offering 10% off in the Museum’s Café.
The first ‘Senior Citizens Day’ was introduced just over three years ago, by Irish Charity Friends of the Elderly, and was confined to special discounts and free events in the Ilac Centre. The impetus behind the initiative was to celebrate and thank our seniors citizens for all they have achieved. Now venues throughout the city have gotten involved including Dublin City Council, Transport 21, and the Dublin City Business Association.
The guided tour of the GAA Museum and Croke Park Stadium offers the chance to experience first-hand the work that goes on behind-the-scenes in one of the most historic and modern stadiums in the world. It traces the footsteps of players on All-Ireland Final Day, visits the players lounge, dressing rooms, players tunnel and pitch side as well as a glimpse at the service areas, corporate levels, and media centre.
Offer is available for individual and group bookings.
