Mayo's Willie Joe Padden to wrap up Legends Tour Season

The hugely popular Bord Gáis Energy Legends Tour Series draws to a close for another year as former Mayo player, Willie Joe Padden, leads a tour of Croke Park Stadium on the eve of the GAA Football All-Ireland Championship Final on Saturday 21st September.
The annual series, which started in 2008, has been a huge hit with followers of both football and hurling, providing visitors with a unique ‘behind-the-scenes’ tour through the hands-on perspective of their hurling and Gaelic football heroes.
The Bord Gáis Energy All-Ireland Legends Tour with Willie Joe Padden takes place on Saturday 21st September at 2.00pm. This unique guided tour is a must for Mayo supporters in Dublin on the weekend of the All-Ireland final and the county’s attempt to bridge a gap of over 60 years in bringing the Sam Maguire to Mayo.
The name Willie Joe Padden is synonymous with Mayo football. The two-time All Star who was renowned for his skill, stamina and high-fielding ability was the backbone of the Mayo team during the 1980s, one of the most successful periods for the county.
The 2013 series of Legends Tours got underway in July and featured Ciarán Whelan, Pat Gilroy and Steven McDonnell. Football legends who have participated in previous years include Liam McHale, Eoin Liston, Brian Mullins, Colm O’Rourke, Mick O’Dwyer and Seán Boylan, to name just a few.
All tours include a trip to the recently-refurbished GAA Museum, which is home to many exclusive exhibits, including the original Sam Maguire and Liam MacCarthy Cups, as well as the official GAA Hall of Fame featuring the hurling and football Teams of the Millennium.
