August 2010 Document of the Month

The GAA Archive holds a number of interesting GAA related documents. Each month staff at the GAA Museum choose one such document which is then displayed here as the 'Document of the Month'.

The document of the month chosen for August 2010 is the statement issued by Luke O'Toole, Secretary of the GAA, organising 'Gaelic Sunday', on the 4th of August 1918, in defiance of British attempts to force the GAA to apply for permits to play Gaelic Games. This statement was issued to all Provincial and County Secretaries.
