Exhibitions

In addition to its permanent exhibitions, the GAA Museum hosts a range of temporary exhibitions throughout the year.

From now until the end of August, the GAA Museum hosts Fighting Irishmen  -  Celebrating Celtic Prizefighters 1820 to present. This exhibition, organised by the Irish Arts Centre, NYC under the direction of Jim Houlihan, tells the story of Irish emigration through the sport of boxing.

Following a successful run at the Irish Arts Centre and the South Street Seaport Museum (NYC) and the John J. Burns Library at Boston College, this eclectic collection of boxing photography and artifacts went on display in 2009 at the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh. The exhibition was officially opened on 18th May by His Excellency, Dan Rooney,  the US Ambassador to Ireland.
