The GAA Museum holds a diverse range of artefacts including trophies, medals, jerseys, hurls and footballs, banners and documents. Each month staff at the GAA Museum chose an artefact / collection and it is displayed here as the ‘Artefact of the Month’.
The artefact of the month chosen for May 2012 is a Leinster jersey, worn by Michael Leahy of Dublin, playing in the 1936 Interprovincial (Railway) Hurling Cup Final against Munster. This is the oldest jersey in the museum's collection and is displayed alongside Michael's Railway Cup winner's medal.
The 1936 final was played on 17th March in Croke Park, and Leinster defeated Munster by 2-8 to 3-4.
