The House of Waterford Crystal will provide the Croke Park Classic Coaches Award which will be presented at the end of the game.
The trophy was designed and hand crafted at the Waterford factory in Ireland and is a Crystal replica of an American Football helmet.
This Crystal Trophy was designed by Billy Briggs, who captured the true classic shape of the American Football Helmet. The design, sparkle and quality reflect the unique design and craftsmanship of Waterford Crystal.
The piece was mouth blown and hand cut using traditional manufacturing techniques. The diamond cutting across the surface of the helmet allows the light catch it, in order to create the magical sparkle, associated with Waterford Crystal.
The factory located in the heart of Waterford City, brings a visit to Waterford to a whole new level as visitors are welcomed to witness the creation of crystal stemware, giftware and masterpieces right before their very eyes. Every year the House of Waterford Crystal melts more than 750 tonnes of crystal and produces more than 50,000 pieces using traditional manufacturing techniques.
The factory tour is a unique and captivating experience that is sure to enthral visitors of all ages, both national and international. The guided factory tour which takes approx. 1 hour, allows visitors witness each and every stage of production and see exactly how Waterford Crystal pieces are handcrafted from the initial design stage right up to the final engraving of the piece.
On completion of the tour, visitors can experience over 12,000 sq. ft. of crystal heaven in the largest retail and showcase of Waterford Crystal in the world including designer Waterford Crystal pieces by John Rocha and Jasper Conran.
